Members of The Falls Church and their extended family and friends are invited to join our parish retreat at Shrine Mont, October 9-11, 2026.

Shrine Mont is the Diocese of Virginia’s conference and retreat center located in Orkney Springs, a community in western Shenandoah County, Virginia. At the heart is the Cathedral Shrine of the Transfiguration, the Cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. We will enjoy beautiful mountain scenery, delicious comfort food (without cooking or clean-up), thought-provoking discussions, individual and group prayer and worship, meaningful time with your family and friends, fun activities (hiking, tennis, fishing), formation opportunities for all ages, and making special connections with new friends from church.

The price includes lodging, meals, supervised group activities for children and youth, and activities for the weekend. A limited amount of financial assistance is available – please email bsalmon@thefallschurch.org for details. A non-refundable $100 deposit per person ($50 for 0-3 year olds) is required with registration, the remaining balance is due August 31st.

Registration closes when we meet our max of 115 parishioners OR on July 24th to enable us to let Shrine Mont know our final numbers by their deadline.  We have met our max participation in previous years so sign-up early.  We will establish a wait list, as Shrine Mont may occasionally release additional rooms to us.

Family maximum is $699. Please note: guests, friends, and non-immediate family members do not count towards the $699 family maximum and should be registered in a separate registration form.

Cancellation Policy: We understand that circumstances and family plans change. Please note that The Falls Church must commit to a final registration number (for which we are financially responsible) by August 1, 2026. To cancel a registration, please contact Walker Hardy at shrinemont@thefallschurch.org. You will receive a refund, less the non-refundable deposit, for any cancellations submitted by 5pm on Sept. 30, 2026. If you cancel your Shrine Mont registration AFTER that date, you will be responsible for the full registration amount.

Services "back home" will take place at our normal times, but because a substantial number of children, youth, and teachers will be away at the retreat, there will be no Sunday School, Children’s Chapel, Youth Forum, or Adult Forum that Sunday, October 11th.
