Our Philosophy

"Loved. Equipped. Empowered. In our church, children are not only welcomed, they are recognized as bearers of God's image and wisdom. We honor their questions, trust their leadership, and celebrate their place in the Body of Christ. This is a community where kids belong fully, lead boldly, and help reveal the sacred in our midst."

 FAQs

  • Children’s Chapel is offered during both the 9:00 AM and the 11:15 AM Services during the program year. Children go out at the Gospel and return to the service at the Peace.

Formation Classes are offered during the program year from 10:20 AM to 11:00 AM for children aged 3 years old to 5th grade.

  • No. At The Falls Church everything we offer, including Children’s Chapel, is an invitation, never an expectation. We believe in honoring the spiritual autonomy of every person, no matter their age. Children are always welcome to remain in the service, wiggles and all. We delight in their voices, their questions, and the unique ways they respond to God. Whether in the pews or in Chapel, children are full participants in the life of our worshiping community.

  • All adults working with children are background checked and trained in child protection. We use a secure check-in and check-out system, and ensure that children are never alone with one adult. Two unrelated adults are present at all times, and all classroom doors have windows for visibility.

Parents are always welcome to observe our programs. We believe in full transparency and invite you to review our safety policies on our website.

  • At The Falls Church, children aren’t just the future of the Church; they are leaders right now. We joyfully invite children to take part in every aspect of our life together. They serve in ministries, read scripture, lead prayers, and help shape our worship with their voices and gifts. Through our Kid Vestry program, children even learn about how the Church is governed and take part in real decisions about how we welcome and include young people in our common life.

Because when children lead, the whole Church grows.

  • Our nursery is staffed by trained, paid professionals who are not only experienced in early childhood care but also deeply love the littlest members of our church family. It’s a safe, nurturing space where infants and toddlers are cared for with gentleness, joy, and attention.
