The Day School

Growing Hearts and Growing Minds for over 60 years!

The Falls Church Episcopal Day School works for our community to provide a high-quality, affordable early childhood education program - right in the heart of Falls Church City.  We serve children from ages 18 months through Kindergarten in a loving, educational environment within a Christian community.

Due to the wintry mix forecasted on Monday, February 11, classes will begin at 10:30, pick up is moved to 12:30. 1:30 dismissal stays the same.
Our Mission

The Day School is a vital mission of The Falls Church.  We seek to provide the highest quality early childhood education within a nurturing environment guided by our experienced teachers. Rooted in the Episcopal tradition, we are deeply committed to creating an inclusive learning community where children of all faith backgrounds feel welcomed, loved and valued.

Our Curriculum

Hands-on play is at the center of our approach to learning. Guided by nationally accepted best practices, the Day School’s curriculum focuses on age-appropriate programs of learning to ensure consistent developmental goals are met in every classroom. At the same time, teachers have the freedom to build on the interests of the unique children in each class to foster their joy for learning. Classroom time is supplemented by regular trips to the Day School’s two outdoor play areas, weekly music lessons, and monthly chapel services. Ultimately, Day School students leave our preschool program ready for kindergarten, and those who participate in our kindergarten program are well prepared to thrive in elementary school.

Our Goal

The Day School seeks to help each child develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually and to nurture our students to grow into confident, curious and enthusiastic young learners. We aim to create a joyful learning community where our children, families, and staff feel supported and valued. And we want our children to know that they are loved by God, their families, and one another.
