At The Falls Church we are striving to turn our growth into action to serve Jesus in all these forms in our local community. Our efforts are guided by the Outreach Committee which works with the staff, the vestry, and the congregation to discern where the gifts of our congregation meet the needs in our community. It often takes the form of partnerships with many wonderful organizations in the greater Falls Church community.
Bailey's Crossroads Shelter Dinner
On the second Sunday of each month a team of volunteers prepares and serves dinner for up to 100 people at the Bailey’s Crossroads Community Shelter- we’re the taco team!
Just about every month of the year we also participate in drives to gather items for various community organizations, from food for Falls Church Community Service Council, to school supplies for children living at Shelter House, from providing Thanksgiving Dinner to families at Homestretch, to providing gift cards at Christmas to families at Shelter House to allow parents the joy and freedom of shopping for their children themselves and gathering coats and hygiene supplies for the unhoused staying at Bailey’s Crossroads Shelter.
And each year The Falls Church Endowment Fund gives away tens of thousands of dollars to these organizations and more as part of their grant program to support organizations that serve the needs of Greater Falls Church.
