What are our values?

One of the core values of The Falls Church is to provide, as Jesus does, radical welcome, sanctuary, healing, care, and spiritual community to all: the whole, the wounded, the searching, and to those often disinvited by other churches. We believe that we are meant to serve Christ in ALL persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Why do we use the word “Queer”?

We at the Falls Church are staking a claim to the word “Queer” in a positive, affirming way that is inclusive and hopefully all-encompassing of our diverse community.

What we do?

Our Queer Faithful group hosts many events, including:

  • Educational events – Adult formation discussions, and current event discussions

  • Service to our community – providing meals to those in need

  • Social gatherings – barbeques, dinners, picnics, and social outings

  • Pride events – marching in Pride parades and hosting events at our church

Our Mission:

Our commitment to accompany one another on our Christian Journey stems from our shared baptism, and requires us to honor our God given diversity. Our goal is to work together to protect, defend, and celebrate every member of our community – especially those marginalized by society, or wounded by faith traditions.  In our diverse faith community, we are proud to do more than just proclaim that ‘all are welcome’ – we live those words every day.

A group of people gathered around a banner that reads "The Falls Church, an Episcopal congregation, Welcomes You" in front of a monument in an urban park. Some members are wearing red T-shirts with the same message, and some are holding rainbow-colored flags and fans.

The crowd is diverse and excited, holding rainbow flags and rainbow bead necklaces, with some wearing rainbow-colored accessories, celebrating at a pride event outside a building labeled "Compass Coffee."
