VBS 2025: A Joy-Filled Journey of Faith, Friendship, and God's Abundant Love

This year’s Vacation Bible School was unlike any we’ve ever experienced. It was quieter in some ways, but more powerful than we could have imagined. We kicked off our adventure with something bold: four Episcopal churches from across Northern Virginia joined us in a shared mission to create something holy and unforgettable.

What happened next was nothing short of a glimpse of God’s Kingdom. Children from across the diocese and our own amazing kids came together to laugh, learn, and form friendships that just might last a lifetime. It was a community alive with joy and discovery.

But it wasn’t just the children who showed up. Episcopal leaders in children, youth, and family ministries offered their gifts, showing what it means to serve with open hands and hearts. Seminarians from Virginia Theological Seminary journeyed alongside our kids, and even the Associate Dean of Lifelong Learning took the week off to lead our games with energy and joy.

Our entire church came alive with love. Staff, parishioners, parents, and volunteers gave their time and talents to teach, decorate, clean, guide, and care for every child who walked through our doors. And our youth, twenty-seven incredible young people, stepped up in record-breaking numbers to lead and serve. Their leadership was a testimony to the Spirit moving in this place.

It was more than a program. It was a moment of holy collaboration, a mosaic of ministries woven together by God’s grace. And it didn’t stop there. The excitement of this year’s VBS has already sparked something bigger. Episcopal churches across Northern Virginia are dreaming together about VBS 2026, envisioning a diocesan-wide experience that will bless even more children, families, and communities.

To all who prayed, gave, served, and showed up: thank you. You were part of something sacred. And as we look ahead, we do so with hearts full of hope, ready for what God will do next.

Because if this year taught us anything, it’s that when we come together in love, anything is possible.
